The Pine School’s FTC Robotics Team, Optimus PINE, exhibited remarkable dedication and innovation in the FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) arena this season. The team demonstrated outstanding work throughout the season, culminating with participation in the Florida FTC State Championship. During the Championship, the team competed in six matches – impressively winning two. Competing with some of the state’s best teams unlocked their full potential and set a high bar for next season.
Optimus PINE’s commitment to excellence was evident in creating an award-winning robot that could complete the diverse and challenging tasks set by the FTC Centerstage season. The team achieved this through imaginative, advanced CAD and programming skills, many of which were learned in just six months through scrimmages and regional and state championships. They redefined what’s possible in FTC robotics design and construction.
In addition to their technical successes, the team made significant contributions to PINE’s STEM program – including teaching engineering design to 4th Graders, introducing CAD/CAM skills to Hobe Sound kids, teaching Lego robotics to the Middle School Robotics Club, and also hosted a breakfast gathering to show appreciation for the PINE dining staff.
“Our robotics students’ drive, creativity, and spirit have set a new standard for future teams and enriched our School and community,” shared Team Sponsor Renato Laucas. “I am immensely proud of their accomplishments and look forward to future successes.”
