A West Palm Beach middle school is the fourth best in Florida, according to U.S. News

Five Palm Beach County middle schools are among the best 50 in the state, including one that made the Top 5, according to a new ranking by U.S. News & World Report.

Bak Middle School of the Arts earned the No. 4 spot in the list of the best public middle schools in Florida, up from 12th last year.

Of the five schools that made the Top 50, four are operated by the Palm Beach County School District. The other, A.D. Henderson University School, is a public “lab school” operated by Florida Atlantic University on the university’s campus.

The best public middle school in Florida? According to U.S. News, the Doral Academy of Technology in Miami-Dade County.

The five Palm Beach County middle schools that made U.S. News’ Top 50

No. 4 — Bak Middle School of the Arts, West Palm Beach

No. 15 — A.D. Henderson University School, Boca Raton

No. 26 — Verde K-8, Boca Raton

No. 32 — Don Estridge High Tech Middle School, Boca Raton

No. 34 — South Intensive Transition School, Boynton Beach
